You guys! I can't believe it!

Lilith Fair is back! You may make fun of me for being so excited, but I have been looking forward to this day for a long time!! I was too little to go to Lilith Fair the first time around, but having been to many many many testosterone driven shows since then- I can't wait to go to a place made for women by women to celebrate music!

Worst story Evar

How could anyone be mean to this beautiful face!??!

(I can't find the picture of Aleistar in his Chicken Costume, or I would have posted that!)
According to this very sad article I saw in Jezebel this AM "Reports of deliberate cruelty to black cats rise especially in the weeks around Halloween in Britain"
Listen, Aleistar may be the naughiest cat in the entire world, and he did escape from Witch Mountain on the wings of a bat, but anybody who is mean in thought or action on purpose to black cats is instantly my enemy forever

This really creeped me out

Have you ever dreamed of this man?

From the website http://thisman.org
In January 2006 in New York, the patient of a well-known psychiatrist draws the face of a man that has been repeatedly appearing in her dreams. In more than one occasion that man has given her advice on her private life. The woman swears she has never met the man in her life. That portrait lies forgotten on the psychiatrist's desk for a few days until one day another patient recognizes that face and says that the man has often visited him in his dreams. He also claims he has never seen that man in his waking life. The psychiatrist decides to send the portrait to some of his colleagues that have patients with recurrent dreams. Within a few months, four patients recognize the man as a frequent presence in their own dreams. All the patients refer to him as THIS MAN.
The human mind is so incredible! From a purely scientific standpoint- what has encoded this image into thousands of seemingly unreleated peoples's subconcious. What would the benefit be?
Is this man God? Or Satan? The smoking man? It is like an episode of the Twilight Zone come to life? Do you want to see This Man, or is it a curse?
I can not even imagine the absolute terror of seeing something, thought to be exclusively in your imagination in a context completely outside of your control in real life.
I think I would faint.

It breaks myHeart-art-arrrrt-art-art- art!

I have been filing my nails like crazy trying to get them to look like Regina Spektor's

Look how cute she is! I think the problem is- she just has little tiny delicate elf hands, where as I have tiny stubby hobbit hands with gigantic finger nails- so no matter what I do I will never have sick 50s fingernails and it breaks myHeart-art-arrrrt-art-art- art!

It's All Gone Peter Tong

RIP LITTLE ANCHOR

This morning I reached up to check in with my little friend- my little Microdermal Anchor and remembered all of the sudden that its GONE. We're going to need more :( . The piercing hasn't been right for awhile and so I had to go back to Slave to the Needle to get it out. (They are awesome there- they removed it for free and were so nice about it. For the record, it was through no fault of my piercer (Josh the piercing ninja- best RECOMMEND RECOMMEND RECOMMEND ) that I had to have it removed- everything he did was perfect. - I was drying my hair on a towel and I made a bad mistake. I thought I could maybe save it but it was no go.)

It was weird to hold my jewelry after it was removed- kind of like when your tooth falls out! I could not believe how small it was (since I could never see it but with mirrors)
I feel incredibly sad at the loss of my piercing. I loved that piercing- it just felt right where it was in my body- like this was how my body should be. I know that I can get it repierced in a few months- but I am not sure what I'm going to do. We had a pretty long run for the placement (9 months) I do know that how I am right now I do not feel complete.

Yuck

I don't think I've ever been shy about my (personal) distaste with women who "Slut-it-up" for Halloween. The act of wearing revealing clothing in and of itself isn't offensive, but the fact that women need a "holiday" to be sexually liberated (a better way is express themselves freely in a sexual way) is an excellent example of the ongoing repression of women in America. Aditionally, I feel like most (not all) women are "naughty" on Halloween because it is an opportunity to gain power within our patriarical society-- my exception to this is because they are only creating frustration by exemplifing a male fantasy of women - this sense of power women gain is fleeting and in reality is harmful to women as a whole because men cease to be people but are transformed to two dimension beings who's sole secret desire is satify men. There isn't anything wrong with wanting to feel sexy and powerful, but as a society I think we should look at the reasons why October 31st makes women act this way.

Plus it's cold! Have some common sense ladiez!

But regardless of your opinons on the above, can we get together and adleast admit that THIS is harmful to women everywhere?

I have difficulty understanding what 9 or 10 year old girl would want to be a devil for Halloween and a slutty devil at that? This blog has an interesting article about it http://blogue.us/2009/10/08/slut-princesses-tricks-or-treats/

Most people I know were a witch at least once when they were a kid- and the fun of being a witch is having a green face and an ugly nose. Even if you want to be pretty witch (totes understandable) -- seriously? High heels and fishnets? Halloween is about walking around in the dark for kids- is this even safe? Not to sound too much like Andy Rooney- but honestly- this just makes me sad.

LOOK at these SHOES

From Alexander McQueen Show in Paris today- how do these even work?!
